The Putschists, Members of the so-called "High Council of State"

The putschists during one of their meetings
Overview
In the early morning of 06-08-2008, elected President of Mauritania, Sidi Mohamed Ould Cheikh Abdallahi signed an innocuous decree appointing Colonel Mohamed Ahmed Ould Smaïl Chief of Staff of the President of the Republic replacing General Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz; Colonel Ould Abderrahman Boubekrine,Chief of Staff of the Army National replacing General Mohamed Ould Elghazouani; Colonel Messgharou Ould Eghoueïzy, Chief of Staff of the National Guard, replacing General Felix Négry and Colonel Mohamed Ould Elkowry, Chief of Staff of the Gendarmerie replacing Colonel Ahmed Ould Bekrine.
Immediately after the publication of this decree, the fired officers, under the leadership of General Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz, decided to implement a coup against the Presidential Institution by ousting the legitimate President ,who was elected by the people of Mauritania by free and fair elections held under the supervision and with the assistance of the international community as a whole. The only motivation of this insane coup against constitutional legality in our country is solely to safeguard the interests of the individual members of this conspiracy of perjurers.
A so-called "High Council of State" was established by the putschists, chaired by the fired General Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz and whose other members include:
-- General Mohamed Ould Cheikh Ahmed Mohamed
-- General Felix Négri
-- Colonel Ahmed Ould Bekrine
-- Colonel Mohamed Ould Cheikh Ould Elhadi
-- Colonel Ghoulam Ould Mahmou
-- Colonel Mohamed Ould Meguett
-- Colonel Mohamed Ould Mohamed Znaguy
-- Colonel Adama Ba Oumar
-- Colonel Sidi Ould Hanena
-- Colonel Bamba Ould Ahmedou Bay
The roles and activities of the orchestrators in the Coup d'Etat against constitutional legality
10 - 21-08-2008, the putschists arrest the legitimate Prime Minister Yahya Ould Elwaghf during his trip to Nouadhibou, where he was to attend a meeting organized by the National Front for the Defense of Democracy to denounce the coup and its constitutional illegality. The putschists take the legitimate Prime Minister to the village of Achram, 450 kms east of the capital, placing him under house arrest, thereby shifting the country to an era of dictatorship and the narrowing of individual liberties.
9 - 18-08-2008, the putschists organize a meeting at the Olympic Stadium, that they claim to be spontaneous and which proves the support of the people of Nouakchott to the ransacking of democracy in their country. But the next day, the trick is denounced by bus drivers who come forward and claim their remuneration and compensation promised to them by managers of the Public Administration Services. The drivers explain that they were hired by the Administration to transport government officials to the meeting, demonstrating the coercive methods which the putschists will not hesitate to use in their dealings with the population.
8 - 18-08-2008, the fired General, Chief of the coup, signs a decree convoking his trusted supporters in Parlialment , those who had backed the overthrow of democracy, to a special session.
