The Mauritanian community in France take it to the street against the coup

Various political groups met to condemn the coup
Early today (Sunday, Aug-10-2008), the Mauritanian community has demonstrated in Paris, against the putsch that targeted the constitutional legality in Mauritania last Wednesday. This coup was conducted as a consequence of the elected and legitimate President, removing Generals Ould Abdel Aziz and Ould El Ghazouani as well as two other military officers, from office.
The demonstration was attended by nearly 400 Mauritanians who demanded the return of the legitimate President-elect, Sidi Ould Sheikh Abdellahi. They condemned the coup.

The demonstrators marched in the streets of the French capital, displaying pictures of the President-elect, as well as slogans demanding his return and denouncing the coup against the constitutional institutions.
It was to be noted that various political tendencies were marching together in this demonstration; thus sending the message that we must put our differences aside and rally around the only worthwhile goal: to thwart a coup that endangers the country's security and stability's present and future.
